How do you change the preference in your computer where your pictures are downloaded from an email attachment?

I recently had some pictures emailed to me from two different people and for whatever reason, they are now downloading straight to “my pictures” as they used to. Now they are downloading to my DVD player’s program, Nero. However when I try to transfer them to “my pictures”, they transfer very small. Does anyone know how to change the preference in the computer to where my pictures are downloaded?

I think your terminology is mixed up. When you download something from an email there is a default filled in which can be changed. Documents go to “downloads”, pictures go to “my pictures”, there are a few other defaults. They can all be changed during the download. Yours seem to be going to the correct folder which is “my pictures”.

You then state that they are downloading to your DVD player program. You have now contradicted yourself. Maybe you are referring to default program for viewing pictures. That can be changed by right clicking on a photo in “my pictures” and clicking on “open with”. You can change the default there.

As for being very small, that makes no sense. Pictures are downloaded as is. You may be opening them in an editing program and somehow changing the size. You may also be viewing thumbnails which are available in XP.
